Titanium

Titanium is the 22nd element, it has an atomic mass of 47.88 amu, and a density of 4.54 g/cm cubed. Its electron levels are 2-8-10-2, and it's valences are +4 and 3. It is located in period 4, group 4B. Ti was discovered in 1791 by William Gregor of england, and it melts at 1661.85 degrees C, and boils at 3286.85 degrees C. Titanium is hald the weight of steel, and is stronger than it. It is special because it is named for the mythological first sons of the earth. It is present in meteorites and in the sun. Moon rocks from the Apollo 11 mission contained 7-12% titanium oxide. Titanium, lustrous, white, strong, and light, is the ninth most abundant element in earth's crust. When free of oxygen, Ti is ductile, and is also very special because it is the only element that burns in nitrogen.
