Nitrogen--N

Nitrogen is a very common gas--so common, in fact, that it composes almost 4/5 of our atmosphere. Nitrogen forms covalent bonds as well as hydrogen bonds, and has valences of -3, -5, +4, and +2. Nitrogen is element #7, and N's atomic mass is 14.0067. At STP, N has a density of 1.251 g/L. N melts at 63.15 K and boils at 77.344 K. It is a highly electronegative element, with an electronegativity of 3.04. Nitrogen's electron configuration is 1s22s2p3.
